Blue Zones And Spotify

Hey, I’ll get to chatting with people at my workshops and presentations and get way, way off topic sometimes. And, sometimes, it ends up with, “That’s really interesting, send me the link about that unrelated but fascinating thing.” Then I realised there were a few that kept cropping up and I’m a big fan of sharing neat ideas but less of a fan of doing extra work. So, here are some of those links:

Blue Zones

Blue Zones

Blue Zones is a book about the small number of places on Earth with the highest quality and quantity of life expectancy. It’s a cool read and while most of the findings are, duh, not that surprising, some are. And the stories are inspirational and practical. That said, what ends up getting talked about is their online assessment that slaps you on the face with how long you’re likely to live and how long you could live if you applied their advice. I could crank my 90 up to a 99.9! Plus there’s definite overlap with my topic of employee engagement – one of the primary drivers of long and quality life is a reason to live and one of the rivers of employee engagement is purpose.  Click here…

Spotify

Spotify

Spotify probably doesn’t need my recommendation but I cannot see any downside. I think its cool, as do my teenage kids. Find me anything else about which that can be said! Stream music legally via a monthly subscription less than the price of one movie ticket or freely if you’re willing to put up with adverts. I won’t even bother to list features. I was doubtful but I’m sold. It seems to be a logical and non-evil new model for music. Excellent for trainers and presenters on the road. Click here…

You need to grab your people's attention, create some rapport, be memorable and influence behaviour change. How can we do that? I'm originally a trainer by trade, turned manager, turned comedian and partway back again. Author of 'THE GUIDE: How to kiss, get a job & other stuff you need to know', I write and speak about how to engage people, be they employees, family or yourself. How can we connect with people’s own internal motivations and help them use their own inner passions to drive towards productivity, success and happiness? And hopefully have a few laughs along the way... As a trainer facilitating learning and development in others, I find myself drawing on my own extensive business experience. I specialise in the delivery of high impact, customised training solutions for organisations that are serious about improving the performance and lives of their people.
